Walton Youth Project have been closely monitoring the local and national advice, as well as working closely with Liverpool City Council and the National Youth Agency. NYA’s guidance, is that we are still in readiness level – RED, which clearly stipulates that youth work activities should be limited to online services, detached youth work, and outdoor 1-2-1 sessions with vulnerable young people. WYP will continue to work within the NYA’s guidance and as such, will continue to delivery our Virtual Youth Club, every Tuesday and Wednesday, and continue with our detached work in partnership with other local youth work organisations.

When will we be able to do face to face work?

We are closely monitoring the guidance from NYA. NYA have published a structured return to youth work plan, and once the readiness level is deemed to have reached AMBER, we will then be able offer 1-2-1 indoors, and small group sessions. The staff are young volunteers are working hard to come up with a summer programme that will ensure we are still able to engage with the young people from the local community, within the various different restrictions we must follow.
