What volunteering opportunities are available?
If you have experience in teaching, 1-1’s and working with young people that can display challenging behaviour, or you would like to gain such experience, volunteering on our NEP programme would be a great opportunity for you. For more information about NEP, click below.
If you would like to volunteer in a youth club setting we run Youth Night on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We run a variety of different of activities as well as issue based sessions based on the needs and interests of the young people we work with. For more information about Youth Night, click below.
We are extremely lucky that many of the young people who attend our Youth Night’s stay on as young volunteers. As young volunteers, they gain experience in leadership, teamwork and communication. Such experience greatly enhances employability and further/higher education applications.
We regularly host university placements from a variety of different institutions and degree courses. Students are able to gain experience in delivering 1-1 and group sessions, interventions, mental health support, management and face to face work. Placements can be tailored to the requirements of your course. If your institution requires you to arrange your own placements and you would like to hear more about what we can offer, please email email@example.com
Volunteering does not have to take place with face to face work with young people. In order to keep Walton Youth and Community Project running, the staff are supported by a small number of volunteers to write funding bids, record accounts, document data, write reports, collect food donations, maintenance of the centre, website design and so much more.
If you have any skills you feel could support Walton Youth and Community Project in any way, we would love to hear from you!
